‘Map,’ speaks of memory, feeling, and nostalgia. A map of the United States and Canada, this is not an ordinary map. Instead, I created patterns that represent certain nostalgic feelings that regions of North America evoke in me. Any map is somewhat abstract, depicting geography while utilizing a variety of keys and symbols that people rarely go to the effort to interpret. This is just my own way of dividing the United States into chunks I can process.

This is a hand printed piece that combines an 8-layer silkscreen (the colored patterns) and lithography (the black linework). The lithography is a grease-pencil drawing printed from a zinc lithography plate. This print was created in a limited edition of 10. Each print is numbered and signed by the artist, and this particular piece is printed on grey Stonehenge paper!
